Trainees' Hostel

If you wish to have a comfortable AND eco-friendly stay while you are in Leh, Ladakh, the LEDeG Hostel is probably your best bet. The Hostel is a 12-room solar-passive affair that can accommodate up to 28 people.

Features –
Location - Away from the commerce of the main bazaar, the hostel has an enviable location situated under the Shanti Stupa (spectacular view of the town), and 3 minutes’ walk from the Tisseru Gompa. At the same time, within 5-minutes’ walk to the numerous eateries/restaurants of the bustling Changspa area.
Home-cooked meals - If you prefer to stay in and have a simple home-cooked meal over conversation with the staff, that can also be arranged at a nominal additional cost.
Comfortable rooms – all the rooms are solar-passively heated by either trombe walls or direct gain.
Electricity - We produce our own electricity on-campus with a 1.2kW PV plant; so unlike the rest of the town, you will not have trouble charging your phone or your camera, or even having a read before you nod off to sleep.
Hot water bucket baths and eco-friendly traditional toilets – Traditional Ladakhi toilets and solar-passively heated bathrooms with sun-heated running water available in the summers.

You can book a bed at Rs.150/- per day, and for another Rs.150/- three meals per day will be provided (Note: this is subject to change as the rates are under revision).

At the moment, we are in the process of adding a permanent kitchen-cum-dining facility and a new toilet block with running water. We hope that this year, we would have added these facilities to make your stay with us more comfortable.
